Find Marker Form
Use the Find Marker form to search for and highlight each error or warning marker in a layout to help you correct errors.

Severity
|
Specifies the type of markers displayed. Select all or none to select all types of markers or none of the markers to be displayed.

fatal error
tool generated error. Can not be signed off, as it will always result in a non-functioning design or a design that can not be manufactured. Such error are generated usually from the process end (design rule) where the far/foundry does not want to allow sign-off.

critical error
tool generated error. Usually requires a design review to sign- off.

signed off critical error displays error that has been reviewed by the design team, and has been signed-off.

error displays error markers.

signed off error displays error that has been signed-off.

warning displays warning markers.
-
acknowledged warning displays warning that has been acknowledged by the designer.

info tool generated information.

annotation user generated information.

Search Scope
|
Specifies what part of the design hierarchy you want to search.
-
cellview: Searches only for objects in the cellview displayed in the current window.
-
hierarchy starting from: Searches all cellviews specified in the design hierarchy. The hierarchy either starts with the top cellview or the current cellview.

library: Searches all cellviews in the specified library. You must type in the library name, and the library must exist in the current search path.

Options

Zoom To Markers: Enlarges the position of the marker in the window by zooming in on the specified marker; when off, displays the marker but does not zoom in.

Cellview Access Mode
|
Specifies the mode for opening a cellview. You base your selection on what you want to do in the cellview.

read: Displays the cellview but does not permit you to edit and save. Find marker searches for the markers with the criteria specified in the find marker form and opens the cellview containing the first desired marker in read mode. However, if that cellview is already opened in Edit mode, the cellview is not re-opened in read mode.

write: Displays the cellview and permits you to edit and save. Find marker searches for the markers with the criteria specified in the find marker form and opens the cellview containing the first desired marker in Edit mode. If the cellview is already opened in read mode, the cellview is re-opened in Edit mode so that you can delete markers if required.

Find by
|
Specifies which markers will display.

master cell only: Searches only for markers in the master cell.

all occurrences: Searches for all occurrences of markers.
