Patch Functions

When routing on metal layers that support trim metal, the router cuts a continuous line of metal with trim shapes. The metal on one side of the trim shape belongs to one net and the metal on the other side belongs to a different net. Based on the manufacturing rules, the trim shapes are frequently not placed at the end of the routing line on both sides. To fix the gap between a shape and the trim shape, an extra metal is added. This extra metal is called as a patch.

For any given pathSeg, a patch is represented by two end styles (begin and end) both, none, or by any one of the ends. The patch type can be any one of the following: notPatch, beginStyle, endStyle, bothStyle, future, beginFull, endFull, bothFull.

This topic provides a list of Cadence® SKILL functions associated with patches.

Only the functions listed here are supported for public use. All other functions, regardless of their name or prefix, and undocumented aspects of the functions described below, are private and are subject to change at anytime.
