Object Splitting
Using the Split command, you can split and stretch a portion of an object. You usually use it to add a jog by stretching a section of a path or group of paths (a bus). You can also add a jog by stretching a section of a multipart path. The following table describes the support available for splitting objects.

ROD objects
|
Except for ellipses, circles, donuts, multipart paths, and multipart rectangles, ROD objects remain ROD objects after a split operation. When you split any ROD object, all alignments to that object are deleted.

Blockages
|
The Split command does not support blockage objects. In pre-selection mode, the command fails, displaying a message in the CIW. In post-selection mode, the command fails to select the blockage object.

Boundaries
|
The Split command does not support PR and snap boundary objects. In pre-selection mode, the command fails, and a message appears in the CIW. In post-selection mode, the command fails to select the boundary object.
For area and cluster boundary objects, the Split command splits the objects in the same way it splits polygons, using points.
