Create Area Boundary Form

Use the Create Area Boundary form to create an area boundary.

Field Description

Name

Assigns a name unique within the cellview to the area boundary.

Create Method

Chooses which method is used to create the area boundary object.

  • From Selected Set: Creates the area boundary using the rectangular bounding box of the selected set of objects.
  • Rectangle: Creates the area boundary using two points.
  • Polygon: Creates the area boundary using multiple points.

Apply

Creates the PR boundary using the selected objects.

Snap Mode

Selects snap mode to use as you enter points when Polygon create method is selected.

Create as ROD Object

Creates the area boundary as a ROD object.

Name: Assigns a unique name to the new area boundary in the current cellview if the Create as ROD Object check box is selected. This unique name consists of the prefix boundary followed by an integer. For example, the first area boundary is named boundary0, the second one boundary1, and so on. You can edit the default name, if required, but ensure that the new name is unique in the cellview.

Soft Fence

Creates the soft fence. Objects enclosed by the area boundary with a soft fence are compacted relative to each other as well as compacted as an entity relative to objects outside the boundary. Selecting this option adds the property ctuBoundaryType to the area boundary, with the property value prSoftFence.
