Loading an ASCII Multipart Path Template File
You can access multipart part (MPP) templates that were saved in ASCII files by loading the ASCII files from the Create Multipart Path form. The templates in each file you load are added to the MPP templates in the technology file in the virtual memory and added to the list of template names in the MPP Template field of the Create Multipart Path form.
To load an ASCII MPP template file:
-
In the Create Multipart Path form, click Load Template.
The Load Multipart Path Template form appears.

-
In the Template File field, type the path and file name for the ASCII MPP Template file you want to load and click OK.
If you enter an invalid technology file name, the system displays a warning message in the CIW and no templates are loaded. Use the Browse button if you need assistance locating the template file name.
The system does not provide a default for the Template File field on the Load Multipart Path Template form. However, you can designate a file name or path and file name as the default for the Template File field on the Load Multipart Path Template form by setting the mppASCIIFileName environment variable.
When you load an ASCII MPP template file, the system checks the names of the ASCII MPP templates against the names of MPP templates that already exist in the technology file in the virtual memory. If there is a name conflict, the system displays a message in the CIW stating that an MPP template in the ASCII file is replacing an existing MPP template. The existing template is overwritten in the virtual memory only. If you do not want to overwrite the original MPP template in your binary technology library on the disk, do not save changes to the technology file. You can also avoid overwriting existing templates by changing the duplicate names in your ASCII file. For more information, see
