Chaining Devices Using the Shortcut Menu

To manually chain transistors using the instance shortcut menu:

• In the Navigator assistant, select the instances to be chained and then right-click to choose Chain – <Appropriate Align option> from the shortcut menu.
  The Chain command in the shortcut menu chains the selected set with Use Device Order on and aligns the devices to default, top, center, or bottom depending on the alignment option selected from the shortcut menu.

Chaining Devices with or without Contacts

Layout XL enables you to choose whether or not to keep contacts for each chain in the selected set. You can set the option to keep or drop contacts.

To control contacts in a selected chain of chains:

• Right-click to select the chain and choose either from the shortcut menu:
  • Contacts – On to keep contacts.
  • Contacts – Off to delete contacts.
  
  The Contacts option is disabled, if the selected set does not contain a chain.

The selected chains have their contacts kept or deleted in the layout canvas, as appropriate.
