Constraint-Driven PR Boundary Generation
With advanced node licensing, during Generate All From Source and Update Components And Nets, Layout XL supports the generation of a PR boundary object for which the dimensions are based on the allowedPRBoundaryDimensions constraint defined in the technology file. If the dimensions specified in the allowedPRBoundaryDimensions constraint require the PR boundary area to be modified, Generate All From Source allows increasing or snapping up the PR boundary area to meet the constraint. This also ensures that the generated devices are accommodated after the increase in area.
If the constraint is not defined, the PR boundary is created as usual based on the parameters specified in the PR Boundary tab of the Generate Layout form.
The allowedPRBoundaryDimensions constraint can be applied separately for the horizontal and vertical directions to cover all the dimensions of a PR boundary. In this case, the generated PR boundary should meet both the constraints—horizontal and vertical.
