Floorplan Property File

A floorplan property file is an extension used to store the configurable parameters of a floorplan and reuse those parameters to configure a new design. These properties are used to create soft blocks for the instances in the physical hierarchy. The properties defined for a soft block are retained in one session. After the Virtuoso session is closed, the defined properties are erased from the memory. In such cases, the floorplan property file is used for the persistent storage of the soft block properties, which can be reloaded on the Instances tab in the Configure Physical Hierarchy (CPH) window when you work with a new Virtuoso session.

A floorplan property file includes the master, terminal, and halo properties. The master properties consists of binding properties, global variables, and boundary tab properties loaded in the CPH form.

The syntax of a soft block property definition in a Floorplan property file is as follows:

Top-Level
(

 Binding properties....
 Boundary tab properties....
 (Terminal properties.............
   Term props1....
   Term props2....
