Pin Connectivity
Any object with pins is a device that includes transistors, resistors, or capacitors. By default, pins are connected internally. The Connectivity – Pins command lets you specify to the router the level at which to connect a pin or group of pins in a net, internally or externally.
- Connectivity – Pins – Must Connect command: Makes the router to connect the selected pin or group of pins in a net externally, at a higher level. When you connect pins externally, you do not need to route between the pins inside the cell.
- Connectivity – Pins – Strongly Connected command: Makes the router to connect the selected pin or group of pins in a net internally, within the device. When you connect pins internally (strong connect), at least one pin in the group must be connected externally.
- Connectivity – Pins – Weakly Connected command: Makes the router to connect the selected pin or group of pins in a net externally. Similar to strongly connected pins, all weakly connected pins must also be connected together internally. Weakly connected pins have limited external connection to avoid specific internal connections, typically ones with high-resistance paths.
- Connectivity – Pins – Pseudo Parallel Connect command: Specifies to the router that the selected instance terminals within an instance do not need to be connected, even though they are on the same net.
