Magnifier Options Form

Use the Magnifier Options form to magnify (zoom in) a specific part of the design display area instead of zooming in the entire design display area.

Field Description

Anchored at Cursor Position

Fixes the magnifier at its last position. The magnifier does not move along with the pointer. You can move the pointer and the design under and around the pointer is magnified in the magnifier. This option is always grayed out and cannot be set by using the form. Use the hash bindkey (#) to select this option. Even when selected, the option remains grayed out. The # bindkey toggles between the Anchored at Cursor Position and Not Anchored options.

Environment variable: magDisplayMode

Anchored at

Specifies where the magnifier should be positioned with respect to the pointer position. By default, the magnifier appears at the top left corner of the design display area with respect to the pointer. The available choices include top right corner, bottom left corner, and bottom right corner. If you select Anchored at, the Not Anchored option is turned off.

Environment variables: magDisplayMode, magAnchorPosition

Not Anchored

Enables you to customize the position of the magnifier either to the center of the area being magnified or as an offset value from the pointer position. If you select Not Anchored, the Anchored at option is turned off.

Environment variables: magDisplayMode, magFloatPosition

  • Center: Positions the magnifier such that its center point coincides the pointer position.
  • Position Magnifier: Enables you to specify the magnifier position with respect to the pointer position. The available choices for positioning the magnifier with respect to the pointer position include top left, top right, bottom right, and bottom left.
    Environment variable: magOffsetCorner
  • offset by: Specifies the distance of the magnifier from the pointer position. You can set any value from 0 through 100. The default value is 15. For example, with the default top left setting and offset 15, the magnifier is positioned at the top left side of the pointer and offset both on X and Y axis by a distance of 15 units. If you set the offset by to 0, one of the vertices of the magnifier coincide the pointer position.
    Environment variable: magCursorOffset

Magnifier Size

Enables you to set the pixel size of the square magnifier window. You can set any value from 50 through 250. The default value is 200.

Environment variable: magSize

Keep Within Window

Enables you to display the magnifier in the design display area. This check box is selected by default. If the check box is not selected, the magnifier might not display completely based on the other settings in the form.

Environment variable: magConfined

Save as Defaults

Saves the specified magnifier settings in the .cdsenv file for the current root application. You can retrieve the updated default values by using the Get Defaults button.

Get Defaults

Retrieves the default values saved in the .cdsenv file for the current root application and resets the values updated, if any, in the form.
