Layout XL Design Data Updates

This topic summarizes how you can use the Virtuoso® Layout Suite XL layout editor (Layout XL) to make design changes and update your design as you progress.

• Components and Nets Updates - Automatically update your layout to take account of instances, pins, and connectivity that you have changed in the schematic.
• Layout Parameters Updates - Update the parameter values of devices in the layout to match the values in the schematic.
• Layout Parameters Updates - Update the parameter values of devices in the layout to match the values in the schematic.
• Schematic Parameter Updates - Update the parameter values of devices in the schematic to match the values in the layout.
• Device Correspondence Updates - For each schematic and layout pair, the correspondence between the components in the views is determined by the Layout XL binder engine.
• Updating the Connectivity Reference - Update the source schematic for the layout view to change the physical configuration, which specifies how the layout is generated from the schematic.
• Binding Updates - Increase Layout XL-compliance by improving the bindings, if you have unbound instances between the schematic and layout views due to any of the following reasons
• Updating All Physical Bindings - Update the CPH master of an instance to the layout master if bindings have been created between layout and schematic instances that have different masters.
