Snap Pattern Snapping for FinFET Devices in Layout Editor
Snap patterns help to ensure that placement constraints defining width and spacing rules are honored when FinFET devices are created or edited. You can define snap patterns for each layer-purpose pair on which FinFET devices are placed. You can display fin grids on the layout canvas and automatically snap shapes and design objects to a fin grid.
Snap pattern snapping is supported in the Create Rectangle, Create Pin, Create Instance, Create Via, Create Wire, Copy, Move, Stretch, Flip, Rotate, Yank and Paste, and Repeat Copy commands.
Snap pattern definitions (snapPatternDefs) can be local or global. A local snap pattern definition is drawn using a snap pattern shape in the layout. A global snap pattern definition can be activated through either a constraint or by drawing a corresponding snap pattern shape.
