Array Generation - Modgen
An array of instances that are grouped in a modgen constraint and have same or different connectivity and masters.
You can choose to abut all the modgen instances to generate a compact placement or specify the spacing values and reference layers for X and Y spacing, as appropriate. By default, the spacing is DRC correct and no reference layers are specified.
Alternatively, you can use the generateModgens environment variable to generate a modgen array.
Cadence recommends that you generate a modgen if it is likely that the array will require updating after placement. To update the modgen, run the Modgen Editor.
The selected components are generated in the layout as a group and are combined in a modgen constraint, as shown in the figure below.
