Hierarchy Configuration Mode in CPH
Use Configure Physical Hierarchy in the Hierarchy Configuration mode:
- To make any required changes before you update the layout from the schematic.
- To produce alternative physical implementations of an existing design, by using a different logical to physical configuration as a “what-if” experiment.
In each case, the main role of the physical hierarchy configuration is to specify the mappings between logical and physical views. When you change a setting, you can see the effects of that change immediately in the layout view by choosing either the Generate All From Source or Update Components And Nets command. The layout view is regenerated (or updated) based on the latest settings in the Configure Physical Hierarchy window.
